The hot weather can take its toll on your side-by-side. Keep your UTV functioning well despite the heat with the following hot weather maintenance tips.

Check Your UTV’s Cooling System.

Before riding in hot weather, ensure your UTV's cooling system is in good working order. Check the coolant level and refill as needed. Check the coolant quality as well - it should not be cloudy, discolored, or contain debris.

Check Your UTV’s Tire Pressure

Hot weather can cause your UTV's tires to lose pressure. Measure the air pressure regularly and compare this number to the recommended air pressure for your given model. Then, adjust the air pressure as needed.

Protect Your Side-by-Side From the Sun

When your UTV is not in use, store the vehicle in a cool and shaded area to protect it from the harmful effects of the sun. If possible, cover it with a tarp or other protective cover.

Avoid Driving in Excessively Hot Weather

If possible, avoid driving your UTV in extremely hot weather. The combination of high temperatures and hard work can put a strain on your UTV's engine and other components. If you must drive in hot weather, take frequent breaks to allow your side-by-side to cool down.
